diet coke + mentos = fhe fun

For Family Home Evening this week we broke out my one souvenir from California: a do-it-yourself soda geyser kit. All you need are a handful* of Mentos, a two-liter of soda–diet works best because a) it doesn’t leave a sticky residue, and b) it’s all we had–and a method for delivering the Mentos into the bottle that doesn’t involve you standing over it, dropping them in one by one.
When it was all said and done, there was still some soda left in the bottle. It was slightly minty (from the Mentos) but completely and totally flat.
Go figure.
